Am I the only one who can’t believe it’s already mid-May?! On this May 15th, let me share with you what’s in store for the week.
1) Skin-on Black Cod Fillet, Bodega Bay
I know many of you are rejoicing that salmon season is finally here (I am too) but black cod still holds the prize for some of my finest dining experiences. It’s just so buttery and delectable – it never loses its pull on me. This black cod that you will be enjoying was caught on the F/V/ China Doll by longline, and landed in Bodega Bay.
2) Blackgill Rockfish, Bodega Bay
This blackgill rockfish was caught by longline on the F/V Spellbound, and landed in Bodega Bay. The fillet will come scaled with the skin on.
3) Kumamoto Oysters, Eureka
Each share will contain 18 oysters. These beautiful little oysters have a deep cup and very sweet meat. They were farmed in open-ocean baskets in Eureka, CA.
4) Fresh California King Salmon, Monterey (fillet or whole fish)
California salmon season is here, so we should be able to offer salmon every week throughout the season. We are currently sourcing from Monterey, and will begin sourcing from Bodega Bay and Fort Bragg when they open starting in August. This salmon is troll-caught.

Indonesian seafood enforcer blows up illegal fishing boast. “A high school dropout turned seafood entrepreneur is leading Indonesia‘s crackdown on illegal fishing, winning plaudits from conservationists and awards as far away as Washington despite her explosive methods.”
Indonesia wants global war on illegal fishing. “Over the weekend, Indonesia’s Maritime and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti said at a seminar that Indonesia would ask the United Nations to support its efforts to categorize illegal fishing as a transnational crime. Her comments reflect the importance that the administration of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has attached to illegal fishing domestically, regionally, as well as internationally.”
Hilda: the fish that is being loved to death. “For decades fishermen in Myanmar have caught and sold the hilsa fish, but overfishing and poor regulation is taking a terrible toll, as the BBC’s Ko Ko Aung reports.”
